I recently purchased a AGS-101 Gameboy SP from ebay. It worked fine, except for one little detail in which case the battery light would flicker from green to red, unless pressure was applied in certain areas. The light would switch back to green for a few moments, then flicker again.
The power light is also randomly flashing, not constantly on. Check the voltage of the batteries compared to normal batteries. I read this elsewhere as well. I've had the "black screen on boot" issue exactly once since the post, however that was when the battery was on low power so it was probably tied to that. I also bought a second kit directly from FP to mod a second GBA as a gift and didn't run into any problems with it during testing (and haven't heard of any problems from the recipient; they
It also has a problem where it will switch to red after only like 5 minutes of playing when it’s at the default brightness. GrindwheelGaming • 1 min. ago. Yeah it's a pretty common problem, just average corrosion on the metal contacts. But be careful, the part that slides back and forth has a seriously tiny, fragile contact on it.
Battery and fuses are good. So, i got second hand AGS-001 that's not powering on at all and won't charge. Green light doesn't come up when I flip the switch. When i'm connecting a charger, orange light comes up for a second and then disappears. When I opened it up, there was some corrosion in the start/select buttons area and by the F2 fuse.
